Chocolate brown is the shade that flatters almost everyone. Warm enough to lift the complexion, dark enough to be taken seriously, and considerably kinder to most skin tones than solid black — which can be stark against pale and mid tones and tends to lose all its detail in photographs.
In a deep wave, with a choice of three cap constructions and eleven lengths, this is one of the most adaptable wigs in the range.
Deep wave
A defined, springy S-pattern with real depth to it — more movement than body wave, more polish than a tight curl. It's the texture that looks deliberate straight out of the box and stays convincing on day three, because the pattern hides a slightly off parting and survives being slept on.
On brown hair the waves do something extra: light and shadow through the pattern give the colour dimension it doesn't have on a flat surface, so it reads as expensive rather than dyed.
Choose your cap
- 13x6 HD frontal — six inches of parting depth. Deep middle parts, side sweeps and off-the-face styles all hold up from every angle.
- 13x4 HD frontal — ear-to-ear coverage with a four-inch parting area. Straightforward to install and the most forgiving of the three.
- 4x4 closure — the simplest to install and the hardest to get wrong. One parting position, far less lace to lay, and a sensible first wig.
The frontals use HD transparent lace, which is finer than standard lace and presses against the skin rather than hovering above it. The hairline comes pre-plucked with baby hair and double bleached knots — the knots being lightened so they don't show as dark dots against the scalp, which is the detail that separates a convincing parting from an obvious one.
Fit and length
Average 22.5" cap with adjustable straps and four combs, which fits most people and can be worn without adhesive.
Eleven lengths from 16 to 36 inches. 16"–20" sits between the chin and collarbone. 22"–28" runs through the mid-back. 30"–36" is full statement length, and at 180% density the longer options carry real weight.
Account for shrinkage. Deep wave loses roughly a fifth to a quarter of its stretched measurement once it's dry and in its natural state, so a 28" wig sits closer to 22". If you have a target length in mind, size up. This is the commonest reason textured wigs get sent back.

Care
- Never brush it dry. Detangle wet, with conditioner in, using fingers or a wide-tooth comb from the ends upward. Dry brushing pulls the wave out permanently.
- Wash in sections with a sulphate-free shampoo, squeezing rather than scrubbing.
- Condition through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots, and use a leave-in for definition.
- Air dry or diffuse on low, scrunching rather than rubbing.
- Refresh, don't rewash. Water and a little conditioner in a spray bottle brings the waves back between wears.
- Handle the lace gently at the hairline, and store the wig on a stand.
Warm brown, defined waves, and a cap to suit however confident you are with lace.
Length and shrinkage guide
All our lengths are measured stretched. Textured hair sits shorter than its stated measurement once it is dry:
- Straight — almost no shrinkage. What you order is what you see.
- Body wave — an inch or two shorter.
- Deep wave and water wave — roughly a fifth to a quarter shorter.
- Curly and kinky curly — up to half. A 20 inch curly piece can sit at 10 inches once dry.
If you are between two lengths, take the longer one. Length disappointment is the commonest reason wigs get sent back, and sizing up costs nothing.
Wigs also arrive compressed from packaging and look thinner and shorter than expected. Shake it out and let it hang before judging it.
Choosing your cap
The cap decides how convincing the wig looks and how much skill it takes to put on. Neither end of this list is better — they suit different people.
- 4x4 closure — the simplest to install and the hardest to get wrong. One parting position. The sensible first wig.
- 4x6, 4x7 and 5x5 closure — a wider lace area, so you can move your parting without exposing the cap.
- 13x4 frontal — ear to ear coverage with real parting space. Middle part, deep side sweep, or moved between wears.
- 13x5 and 13x6 frontal — five or six inches of depth, so a deep middle part stays convincing all the way back.
- 360 frontal — lace around the whole perimeter. The only option if you want high ponytails and updos.
- V-part and half wigs — no lace at all. Your own hair is left out to blend, so the parting is genuinely your scalp.
Frontals give the most freedom and take the most practice. Closures are quicker, more forgiving, and often wearable glueless with straps and combs.
Care
A human hair wig has no scalp feeding it oil, so the ends dry out faster than your own hair would. Looking after it is the difference between a wig that lasts a season and one that lasts years.
- Detangle from the ends upward, never from the roots down. On textured hair, do it wet with conditioner in — dry brushing pulls the wave or curl pattern out permanently.
- Wash sparingly with a sulphate-free shampoo, in sections rather than piling it up.
- Condition through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots, and use a weekly mask.
- Air dry on a stand. Allow plenty of time at higher densities — a dense wig put away damp is how wigs develop a smell.
- Heat protectant every time, at moderate temperatures. Repeated high heat wears a wig out faster than anything else.
- Refresh between wears with water and a little conditioner in a spray bottle rather than rewashing.
- Handle lace gently at the hairline, and store on a stand so the shape holds.
On coloured hair: reds and blondes fade fastest. Wash in cool water, and use a purple toning shampoo every few washes on blonde and highlighted pieces.
