Soft body wave in natural colour, from a chin-length bob to just past the shoulder, with a choice of cap. This is the middle of the range in the best sense — nothing about it is dramatic, and that's exactly why it works day after day.
Choose your cap, and know what you're choosing
- 4x4 closure — four inches of lace across the top. The simplest lace wig to install and the hardest to get wrong: far less to lay, far less to trim, and far less that can go visibly wrong at the temples. You pick a parting position and stay there.
- 13x4 frontal — thirteen inches across, ear to ear. Part it in the middle, sweep it to one side, tuck it behind an ear, or move it next week — it lands on lace every time.
The honest way to decide: if you part in the middle and wear your hair down, the 4x4 does everything you need and saves you money and effort. If you change your parting, or wear hair off your face, the frontal is worth the extra.
Body wave, and why it suits this length
An open, gentle S-wave that adds movement and body without committing you to a curl. It's the most forgiving texture there is — good on day three, survives being slept on, and looks styled when you've done nothing to it.
At bob-to-shoulder lengths that matters more than at long ones. Short hair shows its shape, so a texture that holds movement on its own means you're not reaching for a wand every morning.
Five lengths, 10 to 18 inches
10" and 12" sit at the chin for a bob. 14" and 16" reach the jaw and collarbone. 18" falls at the shoulder.
This range is the easiest to live with: light on the cap, minimal tangling at the nape where wigs actually wear out, quick to wash and dry, and longer-lasting as a result. Body wave loses an inch or two to the wave pattern, so take the longer option if you're between two.
Wigs arrive compressed from packaging and look thinner and shorter than expected — shake it out and let it hang before judging it.

Care
Never brush the wave out dry — detangle wet, with conditioner in, using fingers or a wide-tooth comb from the ends upward. Wash with a sulphate-free shampoo, condition through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots, and air dry on a stand.
A weekly deep-conditioning mask makes a real difference, since a wig has no scalp feeding it oil. Between wears, a spray of water and a little conditioner revives the wave without a full wash. Use a heat protectant, keep temperatures moderate, and handle the lace gently at the parting.

Length and shrinkage guide
All our lengths are measured stretched. Textured hair sits shorter than its stated measurement once it is dry:
- Straight — almost no shrinkage. What you order is what you see.
- Body wave — an inch or two shorter.
- Deep wave and water wave — roughly a fifth to a quarter shorter.
- Curly and kinky curly — up to half. A 20 inch curly piece can sit at 10 inches once dry.
If you are between two lengths, take the longer one. Length disappointment is the commonest reason wigs get sent back, and sizing up costs nothing.
Wigs also arrive compressed from packaging and look thinner and shorter than expected. Shake it out and let it hang before judging it.
Choosing your cap
The cap decides how convincing the wig looks and how much skill it takes to put on. Neither end of this list is better — they suit different people.
- 4x4 closure — the simplest to install and the hardest to get wrong. One parting position. The sensible first wig.
- 4x6, 4x7 and 5x5 closure — a wider lace area, so you can move your parting without exposing the cap.
- 13x4 frontal — ear to ear coverage with real parting space. Middle part, deep side sweep, or moved between wears.
- 13x5 and 13x6 frontal — five or six inches of depth, so a deep middle part stays convincing all the way back.
- 360 frontal — lace around the whole perimeter. The only option if you want high ponytails and updos.
- V-part and half wigs — no lace at all. Your own hair is left out to blend, so the parting is genuinely your scalp.
Frontals give the most freedom and take the most practice. Closures are quicker, more forgiving, and often wearable glueless with straps and combs.
Care
A human hair wig has no scalp feeding it oil, so the ends dry out faster than your own hair would. Looking after it is the difference between a wig that lasts a season and one that lasts years.
- Detangle from the ends upward, never from the roots down. On textured hair, do it wet with conditioner in — dry brushing pulls the wave or curl pattern out permanently.
- Wash sparingly with a sulphate-free shampoo, in sections rather than piling it up.
- Condition through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots, and use a weekly mask.
- Air dry on a stand. Allow plenty of time at higher densities — a dense wig put away damp is how wigs develop a smell.
- Heat protectant every time, at moderate temperatures. Repeated high heat wears a wig out faster than anything else.
- Refresh between wears with water and a little conditioner in a spray bottle rather than rewashing.
- Handle lace gently at the hairline, and store on a stand so the shape holds.
On coloured hair: reds and blondes fade fastest. Wash in cool water, and use a purple toning shampoo every few washes on blonde and highlighted pieces.
