P4/27 is the colour people pay a fortune for and then spend a fortune maintaining. A medium brown base shot through with honey blonde — not one flat shade but two working against each other, so the hair catches light and shows depth as it moves.
That dimensional effect is what separates hair that looks expensive from hair that looks dyed. A solid colour absorbs light evenly and reads flat in photographs. Highlights create contrast, and contrast is what your eye reads as healthy, natural, well-cared-for hair.
What it takes to get this on your own head
A proper highlight or balayage service is several hours in a chair, a three-figure bill, and bleach on your own hair. Then it grows out, and you're back every eight to twelve weeks to keep the roots from giving it away — indefinitely.
This gives you the finished result with none of that, and it comes off at the end of the day.
13x4 lace front
Thirteen inches across, four inches back — ear-to-ear coverage with genuine parting space. Part it in the middle, sweep it to one side, or move it between wears without a cap edge appearing at the temples.
The full width matters more on a highlighted wig than a solid one. Highlights draw the eye straight to the parting, so lace running all the way across is what lets you place the part where the colour falls best.
Two lengths
10 inches sits at the chin for a short bob — highlights at this length sit close to the face, where the contrast does the most work brightening the complexion and framing the jaw. 16 inches reaches the collarbone, where the colour has more room to travel through the length before it resolves.
Both are in the range that's easiest to live with: light on the cap, minimal tangling at the nape, and quick to wash and dry.

Caring for highlighted hair
The blonde sections have been lightened, so they're the part that needs looking after. Use a purple toning shampoo every few washes to stop the honey tones drifting brassy — that single habit is what keeps a highlighted wig looking new.
Otherwise: sulphate-free shampoo, condition through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots, air dry on a stand, and detangle from the ends upward with a wide-tooth comb. Heat protectant every time and moderate temperatures. A weekly deep-conditioning mask matters here, since lightened hair is drier by nature and a wig has no scalp replenishing it.

Length and shrinkage guide
All our lengths are measured stretched. Textured hair sits shorter than its stated measurement once it is dry:
- Straight — almost no shrinkage. What you order is what you see.
- Body wave — an inch or two shorter.
- Deep wave and water wave — roughly a fifth to a quarter shorter.
- Curly and kinky curly — up to half. A 20 inch curly piece can sit at 10 inches once dry.
If you are between two lengths, take the longer one. Length disappointment is the commonest reason wigs get sent back, and sizing up costs nothing.

Choosing your cap
The cap decides how convincing the wig looks and how much skill it takes to put on. Neither end of this list is better — they suit different people.
- 4x4 closure — the simplest to install and the hardest to get wrong. One parting position. The sensible first wig.
- 4x6, 4x7 and 5x5 closure — a wider lace area, so you can move your parting without exposing the cap.
- 13x4 frontal — ear to ear coverage with real parting space. Middle part, deep side sweep, or moved between wears.
- 13x5 and 13x6 frontal — five or six inches of depth, so a deep middle part stays convincing all the way back.
- 360 frontal — lace around the whole perimeter. The only option if you want high ponytails and updos.
- V-part and half wigs — no lace at all. Your own hair is left out to blend, so the parting is genuinely your scalp.
Frontals give the most freedom and take the most practice. Closures are quicker, more forgiving, and often wearable glueless with straps and combs.
Care
A human hair wig has no scalp feeding it oil, so the ends dry out faster than your own hair would. Looking after it is the difference between a wig that lasts a season and one that lasts years.
- Detangle from the ends upward, never from the roots down. On textured hair, do it wet with conditioner in — dry brushing pulls the wave or curl pattern out permanently.
- Wash sparingly with a sulphate-free shampoo, in sections rather than piling it up.
- Condition through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots, and use a weekly mask.
- Air dry on a stand. Allow plenty of time at higher densities — a dense wig put away damp is how wigs develop a smell.
- Heat protectant every time, at moderate temperatures. Repeated high heat wears a wig out faster than anything else.
- Refresh between wears with water and a little conditioner in a spray bottle rather than rewashing.
- Handle lace gently at the hairline, and store on a stand so the shape holds.
On coloured hair: reds and blondes fade fastest. Wash in cool water, and use a purple toning shampoo every few washes on blonde and highlighted pieces.
