The Hand-tied Human Hair Wig is a straight, black lace-front wig offered in 13x4 or 13x6 cap widths, four density options from 150% to 250%, and selected lengths from 12 to 38 inches. It is available in multiple cap, density and length combinations; not every length is offered in every density.
Construction and cap options
Hair is hand-knotted into the lace rather than sewn onto machine wefts. The existing product information describes this construction as allowing strands to move independently from the parting and the cap to sit flatter against the head than machine-wefted hair.
- 13x4 lace front: 4 inches of parting depth and ear-to-ear coverage.
- 13x6 lace front: 6 inches of parting depth.
Both cap options are described as suitable for middle-part, side-part and off-the-face styles.
Density and lengths
- Density: 150%, 180%, 200% or 250%.
- Available lengths: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 34, 36 or 38 inches.
- Length guidance: 12–16 inches is described as chin-to-collarbone length; 18–22 inches as shoulder-to-mid-back; 24–30 inches as toward the waist; and 34–38 inches as statement length.
Use cases
This wig is listed for everyday wear and for styling in middle parts, side parts or off-the-face looks. It may suit shoppers choosing a specific combination of lace-front width, hair length and density, from a 12-inch bob or lob to selected 34–38-inch lengths. The merchant also identifies protective styling as a use case for avoiding heat, colour and daily manipulation of the wearer’s own hair underneath. Density choices range from 150% to 250%; availability varies by selected cap and length.
Care and delivery
After unpacking, shake the wig out and let it hang before assessing its appearance; the product may arrive compressed and look thinner and shorter than expected. Wash it after styling with heat, waves or curls. Free UK delivery is stated in the product information.
Length and shrinkage guide
All our lengths are measured stretched. Textured hair sits shorter than its stated measurement once it is dry:
- Straight — almost no shrinkage. What you order is what you see.
- Body wave — an inch or two shorter.
- Deep wave and water wave — roughly a fifth to a quarter shorter.
- Curly and kinky curly — up to half. A 20 inch curly piece can sit at 10 inches once dry.
If you are between two lengths, take the longer one. Length disappointment is the commonest reason wigs get sent back, and sizing up costs nothing.
Wigs also arrive compressed from packaging and look thinner and shorter than expected. Shake it out and let it hang before judging it.
Choosing your cap
The cap decides how convincing the wig looks and how much skill it takes to put on. Neither end of this list is better — they suit different people.
- 4x4 closure — the simplest to install and the hardest to get wrong. One parting position. The sensible first wig.
- 4x6, 4x7 and 5x5 closure — a wider lace area, so you can move your parting without exposing the cap.
- 13x4 frontal — ear to ear coverage with real parting space. Middle part, deep side sweep, or moved between wears.
- 13x5 and 13x6 frontal — five or six inches of depth, so a deep middle part stays convincing all the way back.
- 360 frontal — lace around the whole perimeter. The only option if you want high ponytails and updos.
- V-part and half wigs — no lace at all. Your own hair is left out to blend, so the parting is genuinely your scalp.
Frontals give the most freedom and take the most practice. Closures are quicker, more forgiving, and often wearable glueless with straps and combs.
Care
A human hair wig has no scalp feeding it oil, so the ends dry out faster than your own hair would. Looking after it is the difference between a wig that lasts a season and one that lasts years.
- Detangle from the ends upward, never from the roots down. On textured hair, do it wet with conditioner in — dry brushing pulls the wave or curl pattern out permanently.
- Wash sparingly with a sulphate-free shampoo, in sections rather than piling it up.
- Condition through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots, and use a weekly mask.
- Air dry on a stand. Allow plenty of time at higher densities — a dense wig put away damp is how wigs develop a smell.
- Heat protectant every time, at moderate temperatures. Repeated high heat wears a wig out faster than anything else.
- Refresh between wears with water and a little conditioner in a spray bottle rather than rewashing.
- Handle lace gently at the hairline, and store on a stand so the shape holds.
On coloured hair: reds and blondes fade fastest. Wash in cool water, and use a purple toning shampoo every few washes on blonde and highlighted pieces.
Returns
Unopened items in their original packaging can be returned within 14 days of delivery. For hygiene reasons, wigs, hairpieces and hair extensions cannot be returned once the packaging is opened, or once the hair has been worn, washed, cut, coloured or otherwise altered — so please check the length and cap type before opening.
If an item arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect, contact us within 30 days and we will replace it or refund you in full. Your statutory rights are unaffected. Full details are in our refund policy.
Shipping
Free shipping to the UK, USA, Canada and France on every order. No minimum spend, nothing to work out.
Everywhere else, shipping is free on orders over £150, or the equivalent in your local currency. Below that, the rate is shown at checkout before you pay, based on your delivery address.
Delivery takes 3 to 25 business days depending on destination. Orders to the UK, USA, Canada and France arrive at the faster end of that range; more distant destinations take longer.
Shipping is charged per order rather than per item, so buying more than one piece at a time is usually the cheapest way to order — and it may take you over the free shipping threshold.
