Body wave is the most wearable texture there is. An open, gentle S-wave that adds movement and body without committing you to a curl — forgiving of a day-three refresh, survives being slept on, and looks styled on mornings you've done nothing at all.
It's human hair, so it moves and catches light the way your own does. Wear it as it comes, define the waves with product, or straighten it entirely and wash it back to the pattern.
Choose your cap
- 13x4 lace front — ear-to-ear coverage with four inches of parting depth. Straightforward to install, and the more forgiving of the two.
- 13x6 lace front — six inches back instead of four. Enough depth that a deep middle part stays convincing all the way through, and room to push hair off the face without exposing the cap.
Either gives you real parting freedom — middle, deep side, or moved between wears. A closure wig commits you to one spot; these don't.
150% density
Natural, everyday fullness rather than big hair. Light on the cap, comfortable across a full working day, and genuinely difficult to spot — which is what most people actually want from a wig they'll wear regularly. On a waved texture it's plenty, since the waves create their own volume.
Find your length
The 13x4 runs from 12 to 30 inches. 12"–16" sits at the chin and jaw for a bob. 18"–22" reaches the collarbone and shoulder. 24"–30" runs through the mid-back toward the waist.
Body wave loses an inch or two of visible length to the wave pattern, so if you're between two sizes take the longer one. Wigs also arrive compressed from packaging and look thinner and shorter than expected — shake it out and let it hang before judging it.

Care
Never brush the wave out dry — detangle wet, with conditioner in, using fingers or a wide-tooth comb from the ends upward. Wash with a sulphate-free shampoo in sections rather than piling it up, condition through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots, and air dry on a stand.
A weekly deep-conditioning mask makes a real difference to how long it lasts: a wig has no scalp feeding it oil, so the ends dry out faster than your own hair would. Between wears, a spray of water and a little conditioner revives the wave without a full wash. Use a heat protectant and keep temperatures moderate, and handle the lace gently at the hairline.

Length and shrinkage guide
All our lengths are measured stretched. Textured hair sits shorter than its stated measurement once it is dry:
- Straight — almost no shrinkage. What you order is what you see.
- Body wave — an inch or two shorter.
- Deep wave and water wave — roughly a fifth to a quarter shorter.
- Curly and kinky curly — up to half. A 20 inch curly piece can sit at 10 inches once dry.
If you are between two lengths, take the longer one. Length disappointment is the commonest reason wigs get sent back, and sizing up costs nothing.
Wigs also arrive compressed from packaging and look thinner and shorter than expected. Shake it out and let it hang before judging it.
Choosing your cap
The cap decides how convincing the wig looks and how much skill it takes to put on. Neither end of this list is better — they suit different people.
- 4x4 closure — the simplest to install and the hardest to get wrong. One parting position. The sensible first wig.
- 4x6, 4x7 and 5x5 closure — a wider lace area, so you can move your parting without exposing the cap.
- 13x4 frontal — ear to ear coverage with real parting space. Middle part, deep side sweep, or moved between wears.
- 13x5 and 13x6 frontal — five or six inches of depth, so a deep middle part stays convincing all the way back.
- 360 frontal — lace around the whole perimeter. The only option if you want high ponytails and updos.
- V-part and half wigs — no lace at all. Your own hair is left out to blend, so the parting is genuinely your scalp.
Frontals give the most freedom and take the most practice. Closures are quicker, more forgiving, and often wearable glueless with straps and combs.
Care
A human hair wig has no scalp feeding it oil, so the ends dry out faster than your own hair would. Looking after it is the difference between a wig that lasts a season and one that lasts years.
- Detangle from the ends upward, never from the roots down. On textured hair, do it wet with conditioner in — dry brushing pulls the wave or curl pattern out permanently.
- Wash sparingly with a sulphate-free shampoo, in sections rather than piling it up.
- Condition through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots, and use a weekly mask.
- Air dry on a stand. Allow plenty of time at higher densities — a dense wig put away damp is how wigs develop a smell.
- Heat protectant every time, at moderate temperatures. Repeated high heat wears a wig out faster than anything else.
- Refresh between wears with water and a little conditioner in a spray bottle rather than rewashing.
- Handle lace gently at the hairline, and store on a stand so the shape holds.
On coloured hair: reds and blondes fade fastest. Wash in cool water, and use a purple toning shampoo every few washes on blonde and highlighted pieces.
