A shampoo bar is a bottle of shampoo with the water taken out. That's most of what's in a bottle — you're paying to ship it, storing it under your sink, and throwing the plastic away afterwards. A bar does the same job, lasts longer than the bottle it replaces, and fits in a soap dish.
This one is built around tea tree and oleuropein, the compound found in olive leaf, and it's a clarifying bar rather than a moisturising one.
What clarifying actually means
Most shampoos are formulated to be gentle, which is another way of saying they leave a certain amount behind. Over weeks that adds up — silicones from conditioner, dry shampoo, styling product, hard water minerals and the scalp's own oil. Hair goes limp, roots get greasy faster, and products stop working as well because they're layering onto residue rather than onto hair.
A clarifying wash strips that back. Tea tree gives it a clean, sharp, slightly medicinal character, and it's the ingredient people reach for when their scalp feels congested or is prone to flaking.
Use it as a reset rather than daily — once a week, or whenever hair feels heavy and won't behave. Follow with a conditioner or mask, because a proper clarifying wash will leave hair squeaky.

- It lasts. One bar typically outlasts two or three bottles of liquid shampoo.
- No plastic. No bottle, no pump, nothing to recycle.

How to use it
- Wet your hair thoroughly, and wet the bar.
- Rub the bar between your palms to build a lather, or stroke it directly over the scalp a few times.
- Massage the lather into the scalp — this is where the work happens, not in the lengths.
- Rinse thoroughly, then condition the mid-lengths and ends.
The one rule that decides whether a bar lasts three washes or three months: let it dry out between uses. A draining soap dish or a tin with holes. Left sitting in water it will dissolve into mush.

Good to know

Length and shrinkage guide
All our lengths are measured stretched. Textured hair sits shorter than its stated measurement once it is dry:
- Straight — almost no shrinkage. What you order is what you see.
- Body wave — an inch or two shorter.
- Deep wave and water wave — roughly a fifth to a quarter shorter.
- Curly and kinky curly — up to half. A 20 inch curly piece can sit at 10 inches once dry.
If you are between two lengths, take the longer one. Length disappointment is the commonest reason wigs get sent back, and sizing up costs nothing.
Wigs also arrive compressed from packaging and look thinner and shorter than expected. Shake it out and let it hang before judging it.
Choosing your cap
The cap decides how convincing the wig looks and how much skill it takes to put on. Neither end of this list is better — they suit different people.
- 4x4 closure — the simplest to install and the hardest to get wrong. One parting position. The sensible first wig.
- 4x6, 4x7 and 5x5 closure — a wider lace area, so you can move your parting without exposing the cap.
- 13x4 frontal — ear to ear coverage with real parting space. Middle part, deep side sweep, or moved between wears.
- 13x5 and 13x6 frontal — five or six inches of depth, so a deep middle part stays convincing all the way back.
- 360 frontal — lace around the whole perimeter. The only option if you want high ponytails and updos.
- V-part and half wigs — no lace at all. Your own hair is left out to blend, so the parting is genuinely your scalp.
Frontals give the most freedom and take the most practice. Closures are quicker, more forgiving, and often wearable glueless with straps and combs.
Care
A human hair wig has no scalp feeding it oil, so the ends dry out faster than your own hair would. Looking after it is the difference between a wig that lasts a season and one that lasts years.
- Detangle from the ends upward, never from the roots down. On textured hair, do it wet with conditioner in — dry brushing pulls the wave or curl pattern out permanently.
- Wash sparingly with a sulphate-free shampoo, in sections rather than piling it up.
- Condition through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots, and use a weekly mask.
- Air dry on a stand. Allow plenty of time at higher densities — a dense wig put away damp is how wigs develop a smell.
- Heat protectant every time, at moderate temperatures. Repeated high heat wears a wig out faster than anything else.
- Refresh between wears with water and a little conditioner in a spray bottle rather than rewashing.
- Handle lace gently at the hairline, and store on a stand so the shape holds.
On coloured hair: reds and blondes fade fastest. Wash in cool water, and use a purple toning shampoo every few washes on blonde and highlighted pieces.
