Each listing sets out what the product does and how to get the best from it. A few things apply across the range:

• Heated styling tools — work on dry hair unless the tool is specifically designed for wet use, always use a heat protectant, and start at the lowest temperature that gives you the result you want. Fine hair needs far less heat than thick hair. Repeated passes cause more damage than one correctly heated pass.
• Electrical devices — read the instructions supplied with the product before first use, and let anything heated cool completely before storing it.
• Oils, creams and anything applied to skin or scalp — patch test on a small area first and leave it 24 hours, particularly if you have sensitive skin. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

These products are for cosmetic and styling use. They are not medical devices and we make no claims about treating any condition. If you have a scalp or skin condition, speak to a pharmacist or doctor before use.

Mains-powered tools are supplied with the plug type for the destination country where that is available; where it is not, a travel adapter may be needed. Voltage is stated on the product where the manufacturer specifies it — check it before using a tool abroad, as a dual-voltage tool and a single-voltage tool behave very differently on the wrong supply.

Rechargeable and cordless tools are shipped with a charging cable. Lithium batteries are shipped in line with carrier rules, which occasionally affects the routing and timing of a delivery.

• Heated tools — let them cool fully, then wipe the plates or barrel with a dry or barely damp cloth. Never submerge an electrical tool in water. Do not wrap the cable tightly around the body of the tool; that is what kills cables.
• Brushes and combs — clear the hair out after each use and wash occasionally in warm soapy water, then dry bristles-down.
• Oils and creams — keep the cap closed and store away from direct sunlight and heat. Use within the period stated on the packaging once opened.
• Everything — store dry, and keep electrical tools away from basins and baths.

Unused items in their original, unopened packaging can be returned within 14 days of delivery. For hygiene reasons, oils, creams and other topical products cannot be returned once opened, and personal-care devices cannot be returned once used. If an item arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect, contact us within 30 days and we will replace it or refund you in full. Your statutory rights are unaffected. Full details are in our refund policy.
