Starting at 8 inches, this is the shortest wig we stock — a proper crop through to a chin-length bob, in a warm chocolate brown that flatters almost everyone.
Short hair is the length people talk themselves out of and then love. It's lighter, quicker, and frames the face in a way long hair simply doesn't. The catch is that cutting your own to find out is a decision you live with for a year. This isn't.
Why a 4x4 closure
The 4x4 is the simplest lace wig to install and the hardest to get wrong. Four inches of lace gives a convincing parting without the ear-to-ear lace of a frontal, so there's far less to lay, far less to trim, and far less that can go visibly wrong at the temples.
The trade-off is parting freedom — you pick a spot and largely stay there, and pushing it back off the face will show the cap edge. At these lengths, where most people part in one place and wear it down anyway, that's a trade worth making for how much easier it is to live with.
Five lengths, 8 to 16 inches
8" is a genuine crop, sitting at the ear and jaw. 10" and 12" fall at the chin for a classic bob. 14" reaches just below, and 16" sits at the collarbone.
Everything about short wigs is easier. They're light on the cap, so no pulling across a long day. They barely tangle at the nape, which is where wigs actually wear out. They wash and dry in a fraction of the time. And they last considerably longer as a result — a 16-inch wig will outlive a 30-inch one worn the same way.
Wigs arrive compressed from packaging and look thinner and shorter than expected — shake it out and let it hang before judging it.
Why it's worth buying
- Try short hair without cutting. If you've been circling a crop or a bob, this answers the question for less than the price of the haircut.
- Brown flatters more people than black. Warmer against the skin, and much better in photographs.
- The easiest wig to install. A 4x4 closure is about as forgiving as lace gets — a sensible first wig.
- Genuinely low maintenance. Light, fast to wash, minimal tangling, no tying it back at night.
- Human hair. Flat-iron it into a sharp blunt bob, add a wave for something softer, or dye it darker.
- It protects your own hair. Useful if you're growing hair out, recovering from damage, or between colours.
Care
Wash with a sulphate-free shampoo, condition through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots, and air dry on a stand. Detangle from the ends upward with a wide-tooth comb. Use a heat protectant and keep temperatures moderate — short styles invite frequent flat-ironing, and repeated heat is what wears a wig out fastest.
A weekly deep-conditioning mask still matters at this length, since a wig has no scalp feeding it oil. Handle the lace gently at the parting, and store it on a stand so the shape holds.

Length and shrinkage guide
All our lengths are measured stretched. Textured hair sits shorter than its stated measurement once it is dry:
- Straight — almost no shrinkage. What you order is what you see.
- Body wave — an inch or two shorter.
- Deep wave and water wave — roughly a fifth to a quarter shorter.
- Curly and kinky curly — up to half. A 20 inch curly piece can sit at 10 inches once dry.
If you are between two lengths, take the longer one. Length disappointment is the commonest reason wigs get sent back, and sizing up costs nothing.

Choosing your cap
The cap decides how convincing the wig looks and how much skill it takes to put on. Neither end of this list is better — they suit different people.
- 4x4 closure — the simplest to install and the hardest to get wrong. One parting position. The sensible first wig.
- 4x6, 4x7 and 5x5 closure — a wider lace area, so you can move your parting without exposing the cap.
- 13x4 frontal — ear to ear coverage with real parting space. Middle part, deep side sweep, or moved between wears.
- 13x5 and 13x6 frontal — five or six inches of depth, so a deep middle part stays convincing all the way back.
- 360 frontal — lace around the whole perimeter. The only option if you want high ponytails and updos.
- V-part and half wigs — no lace at all. Your own hair is left out to blend, so the parting is genuinely your scalp.
Frontals give the most freedom and take the most practice. Closures are quicker, more forgiving, and often wearable glueless with straps and combs.
Care
A human hair wig has no scalp feeding it oil, so the ends dry out faster than your own hair would. Looking after it is the difference between a wig that lasts a season and one that lasts years.
- Detangle from the ends upward, never from the roots down. On textured hair, do it wet with conditioner in — dry brushing pulls the wave or curl pattern out permanently.
- Wash sparingly with a sulphate-free shampoo, in sections rather than piling it up.
- Condition through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the roots, and use a weekly mask.
- Air dry on a stand. Allow plenty of time at higher densities — a dense wig put away damp is how wigs develop a smell.
- Heat protectant every time, at moderate temperatures. Repeated high heat wears a wig out faster than anything else.
- Refresh between wears with water and a little conditioner in a spray bottle rather than rewashing.
- Handle lace gently at the hairline, and store on a stand so the shape holds.
On coloured hair: reds and blondes fade fastest. Wash in cool water, and use a purple toning shampoo every few washes on blonde and highlighted pieces.
