Length and shrinkage guide
Lengths are measured stretched, from the weft to the ends. Textured hair sits shorter than its stated measurement once dry:
- Straight — almost no shrinkage.
- Body wave — an inch or two shorter.
- Deep wave and water wave — roughly a fifth to a quarter shorter.
- Kinky curly — up to half. A 20 inch kinky curly bundle can sit at 10 inches once dry.
Remember that extensions are attached below your own hairline, so the finished length on your head is shorter again than the length of the bundle. If you are between two lengths, take the longer one.
Bundles arrive tightly banded and compressed. They look thinner than they are until you unband them and shake them out.
Care
Extensions have no scalp feeding them oil, so they dry out faster than your own hair. Most of the work is at the ends and at the wefts.
- Detangle from the ends upward, holding the weft so you are not pulling against the seam. On textured hair do it wet, with conditioner in — dry-brushing pulls the curl pattern out permanently.
- Wash gently and in one direction, with a sulphate-free shampoo. Do not pile the hair up and scrub it; that is what causes matting at the top.
- Condition the mid-lengths and ends, keeping conditioner off the weft itself, which loosens the stitching over time.
- Air dry where you can, laid flat or hung. Never store hair damp.
- Heat protectant every time, at moderate temperatures.
- Seal any cut edge if you trim a weft down, or it will shed.
- Braid loosely for sleeping once fitted, especially at longer lengths.
On coloured hair: reds and blondes fade fastest. Wash in cool water, and use a purple toning shampoo occasionally on blonde and highlighted hair rather than every wash.
Returns
Unopened bundles in their original banding and packaging can be returned within 14 days of delivery. For hygiene reasons, hair cannot be returned once the banding is cut or the packaging is opened, or once it has been fitted, washed, cut, coloured or otherwise altered — so please check the length, texture and bundle count before opening.
